VITERBO – outside the walls Eighteenth-century farmhouse with park and Italian garden, adjacent to the center of Viterbo, spread over two floors plus attic and turret and some external appurtenances in a private park of approximately 6000 m2. Overall consisting of a main building (Manor House) and a series of annexes and appurtenances. The buildings stand in a park area, with an Italian garden and several surrounding plots of land with vineyards and olive groves. There is also an ancient family chapel and other annexes attached to the building. The main building is on two levels with a large entrance hall with cross vault and lateral barrel vaults in the rooms used as a warehouse. A ramp gives access to the upper floor consisting of a main room with a rectangular plan with a stucco fireplace and barrel vault decorated with aviary motifs. Around this room there are 4 square-plan rooms, all with cross vaults, with sails decorated with frescoes with different themes, two of which are biblical. Another square-plan room with a coffered ceiling and a small room with a barrel vault complete the floor, together with spacious service accessories (kitchen and 3 bathrooms). The paintings or frescoes seem to be considered by an author, as they are evidently of uncommon artistic expertise for the period to which they belong. Some characteristic elements retain an important trace of the period to which they belong, such as the original double-leaf doors with grotesque decorations, and the perfectly preserved terracotta floors. An additional flight of stairs allows connection to the partially accessible attic floor, with an average height of 210 cm (between the height at the ridge and the height at the intersection of the vertical partition with the slope). From this room, a further wooden staircase leads to the belvedere tower from which you can appreciate a remarkable 360-degree panorama of the surrounding countryside and the newly constructed building fabrics. The turret could be the original nucleus of the building, a remnant of a previous structure where a medieval watchtower once stood. The accessory appurtenances of the house, all to be restored and possibly transformed appropriately through the urban planning tool of SCIA, are an old granary, later transformed into a farmhouse and currently used as the caretaker's house, a small family chapel, and two cellar rooms. Outside the building there is an ancient basalt with a central peperino fountain, a covered Roman well, with spring water, some stables and an old-fashioned oven. The agricultural land of relevance, of approximately 20,000 square meters, includes an olive grove of approximately 250 plants (some of which are centuries-old), a small vineyard and an area of arable land.
